Leak Bill Relief Program
Water Utility Managements Leak Relief Program is a voluntary program offered to all WUM customers. This program offers relief to customers who experience high water bills caused by a water leak. By being a part of this program, customers who experience an unexpected leak can have peace of mind knowing that they can receive financial relief (in the form of a bill credit) to help reduce some, if not all, of the overage charged on their water bill. Customers can submit one leak relief request every 12 months with a maximum relief credit of up to $5000.00 every 12 months.
How the Leak Adjustment Program Works:
- All eligible customers are automatically enrolled in the Leak Adjustment Program for a voluntary fee of $2 per month (equal to $4 per bi-monthly bill). Fee will start appearing on each billing statement starting August 2025.
- If you experience a leak and have it repaired, simply provide us with a plumber’s receipt or proof of parts purchased. We will then adjust your billing statement by removing the excess water usage caused by the verified leak. The adjusted billing statement will reflect your normal bill from the year prior (or base bill if account does not have any billing history going back to one year).
- Participation is entirely voluntary. If you wish to opt out, the account owner should send an email requesting to opt out to leakoptout@waterga.com.
Please be sure to include name, account number, service address, and contact phone number in this email. Should you decide to rejoin the program after opting out, a brief waiting period of two billing cycles will apply before you can apply for an adjustment.
Please note, this program is not an insurance policy and does not cover any repairs or damage. It is a bill relief program offered by Water Utility Management to assist customers in managing high water bills due to unexpected leaks.

Applying Bill Relief Credit
A representative will contact you once your submission has been received and deemed eligible for the leak bill relief program. Upon application acceptance and verification of the previous leak being repaired, the leak bill relief will be applied as a credit to the account.
Customers that are in the Leak Bill Relief Program will be granted leak bill relief credit ONCE ever 12 months (not to exceed $5,000 within a 12-month period).
